Control on the wireless unit

Is control on the unit easy vs app. For example to see if the heating it water is on, to turn on boost? I'm comparing it to hive?

  • Any advice, can you see the boiler firing up, can you boost the heater and or water directly on thermostat or is everything via the app?
  • No, control on the wireless receiver is very limited and you have no control of the TRVs . . .
  • Thanks, what about the thermostat itself?
  • On the wireless temperature sensor you can switch HW on and off and also control the heating of the virtual room it is in . . .

We use the app on iPhones, iPad and very very rarely on the web browser. You can turn up the room heating from the app, room stat or trvs. You can also look at the wireless receiver lights to check if the system CH or HW is calling the boiler (zone valve) for heat.

  • So it is more using the app then the thermostat?

With multiple TRVs, room stat and Hot water, all have their own schedule and can call for heat. Plus geo-fencing for ‘home’ or ‘away’. For us, the app is the place to go.

When we arrive home, I’ll occasionally push the button on the wireless stat in the hall to see what it says the temperature is. Similarly, occasionally look at the lights on the wireless receiver in the study to see if the CH or HW is calling for heat.
