HomeKit not getting the user defined name for the room

Hello, I installed yesterday eight smart thermostats, and I’ve noticed that my home app is not receiving the user defined name, but rather the serial number of the device instead. This makes it impossible for me to identify what room the temperature displayed in the home app refers to. I’ve seen that one can reinstall the HomeKit configuration, but before going ahead I would like to hear from anybody, whether that might be a solution or not. Thanks in advance!

  • The serial number is on the sticker that you peel off from the devices.....so once you have the stickers to hand, you can then rename the devices in the home app to match what you have in the Tado app.

  • Thanks @Malcky, that’s greatly appreciated. I had already considered that as a workaround, however it is definitely possible to do what I’m asking for. I’ve done that with all my zigbee zwave devices published by my Home Assistant into the Apple ecosystem.
