Additional Room Thermostat
I have a tado smart stat in the hallway on the ground floor. My ground floor rads do not have trv's but my 1st floor rads do and the system works fine, however during the night I would like to allow my kids rooms to call for heat without the downstairs warming up too.
If I add a Additional Room stat on the 1st floor and link the upstairs rads to that zone, can the additional room stat call for heat from the boiler even if the ground floor temp is set below the upstairs temp?
Or
Can this be done with just the smart TRV's that I already have on the 1st floor?
At the moment, If I set the ground floor to 19 degrees overnight via schedule , the heating goes off as expected at say 11pm, but if my kids room gets to cold over night, their rooms do not call for heat until the main home stat requests a higher temp via the schedule
Hopefully that makes sense?
Thanks

Hello,
You need at least additional Smart Thermostat for the 1st floor. These can communicate with the Smart Thermostat, and this device can signal the heating demand of the Smart Radiator Thermostat to the boiler.
Be careful: if the rads on the ground floor are open they will just give out heat if any of the Smart Radiator Thermostats have a heating demand. It's recommend to replace the valves on these rads and mount Smart Radiator Thermostats on them.
