V1 and V3 etc compatibility

Hi Guys, I have what i think is a Tado V1 Smart Thermostat which I have never installed (combi boiler location wasn't suitable for it).

I have worked out I need the extension box, but only see V3 units available! Quick question is are they compatible (v1 thermoset and v3 extension).
