New user, but can’t get the app setting to hold morning schedule
Just had new Baxi Boiler fittedalong with Tado wireless thermostat.
having problems setting morning time schedule on my phone app, evening one seemed o.k.
However the Boiler and heating came on at midnight last night!
Tried again this morning to alter settings on app. The afternoon/evening one seems to hold now, but will wait and see, but morning one will not save.

@Angler in the schedule you need to set time blocks to cover every period of the day, even those time periods where you don't want the heating on. It doesn't allow gaps in the schedule.
So in your case you need to first set a timeblock from 00:00 to 07:30 which is either "off" or a much lower set back temperature. Then you can schedule in your morning slot from 07:30. - 09:00. Then off/ lower temp again from 09:00 to 16:00. Then another "on" period from 16:00 to 22:00 etc etc.

It really isn’t that complicated once you get your head round how the schedule works. Once you’ve sorted the schedule (fingers crossed) you won’t have to touch it again.1

You can alter the schedule quite easily once you’ve created it, or make an alternate schedule if you choose the different schedule days option, but I’ve never bothered. Once you’ve set a comfort temperature for winter, Tado should turn the heating on less and less as the temperature gets warmer.1

Have you turned on early start?0

Hi, thanks for quick reply.
don’t know but will check, should I have?

No, turn it off if you have. When you say the schedule won’t save, can you see it in the app?0

Hi, can’t check at the moment, but sure it isn’t checked
we have the new boiler added to a Tado control panel, which then is linked to wall thermostat.
we do not have Tado radiator controls, just thermostat in large hall.
when the app was last checked, trying to set the morning time to start and end, only a couple of hours, it just wouldn’t have it.
added both times but either one or the other after pressing save, jumped back to 00.00
today we turned the thermostat down to 12 degrees as it seems to go higher when set to 18C

You need to make sure the time you set begins and ends earlier than the next block, if that makes sense, and that the current block time start time is earlier than the end. You can’t set a start time of 18.30 when the end time is 17.30 for example. It can be quite confusing at first.0

the first time was 7.30 am until 9.00 am
second was 4pm until 10pm
first didn’t work, 2nd one did

Yes, but since the time wouldn’t save, had to use manual and switch it off and on.
can’t believe this isnt working, used more gas today than we used when it was the coldest week! That was with our old boiler.
on top of that the valve for our hot water running with the boiler has jammed, so a new one will be fitted on Tuesday when the boiler fitter returns. In all fairness this is 17 years old and probably with all the upheaval has given up the ghost
I am so frustrated, was so looking forward to a new economical boiler, which I’m sure it will be, my husband didnt want to change our old control panel and thermostat but it seemed silly to use a 19 yr old unit when we had a new boiler.
Guess who’s in the dog house now?

Wow, that is rather complicated.
Certainly nothing like our old but very simple thermostat and control panel
need another hour for heating, just click + 1 hr etc.
will have to get to grips with this, but still does not explain why we are using gas at such a rate.

Just gone onto Tado for more info on the advice you gave me.
if I’d known how complicated this is I would never have gone for it, we were advised by plumber that it was the bees knees but just showed us very briefly how to set times. Nothing like this.
I realise that most up to date systems will use smart thermostats etc, and sure they are more economical than the older ones.
Both been Ill with virus since early New Year, no heating since old boiler gave up the ghost. Most plumbers snowed under as usual after really cold spell.
Luckily managed to get brilliant plumber who gave us priority and can’t fault his work, just wish I’d had more time to do research on various new thermostats, which I normally do in depth for anything new.

Do hope so, but surely will need to alter for summer?
or do you just alter temperature on app or stat?
Think system still needs some balancing, some rads turned down to 2 but really hot.
don’t think we’ll alter/ set up schedule until new 2 way valve gets fitted on Tuesday, so can then turn off immersion heater and add hot water to the boiler.

Hurray!
eventually got it, no gaps in schedule and it has been working fine today.
still no sight nor sign of plumber or valve today to get hot water, but managing with immersion heater for now.
Thanks to all for you help and advice and Tado instructions, finally got there ☺️
