Protterton ProMax Ultra Weird wiring to existing thermostat

Hello aall,

I’m trying to replace my Honeywell cm707 with a Tado wired thermostat. Looking at the boiler manual the thermostat should have been connected to terminals 1 and 2 of block M1. Which I would have removed and put them on terminal M2 so I can use opentherm.

However, it looks like the installer did something I was not expecting. Which from my limited understanding means I cannot use the existing wires. I’ve attached pictures of the boiler and thermostat wiring.

thank you for any help.

  • You can use any two wires for Opentherm. Unwire your existing setup, put two wires in the Opentherm terminals on your boiler and two wires in the digital connections on the Tado wired thermostat. Make sure that you’ve unwired any high voltage connections before you connect to the digital terminals.
