No measurable Volts or Amps on Tado Smart Thermostat terminals
Couple of days ago we woke up to a cold house. After a lot of fault tracking it seemed that the Tado thermostat was not outputting anything on the OT terminals at the back. I measured this with a standard multimeter on the + and -. The OT standard works in a way so that there is a V and A output depending on the requested temperature, this to modulate heating.
After restarting this worked for a bit until we have gotten home for a couple days away for Christmas. I tried restarting again, but alas no output on the OT terminals.
I contacted support, they suggested a revert back to normal relais switching, this caused some reaction on the boiler, it not a normal on/off.
The response was that the boiler was faulty. But this has been looked at by a professional and was cleared ok. (We also have working hot water and I can run the heating manually for a short time)
I reverted back to OT setting on the boiler, still no output. Tried relais switching again, and now there is no response on the boiler.
I believe the thermostat is faulty, but have had no response from support. The thermostat is about 3 years old, so out of guarantee, but lifetime expectancy must be more than this?
I can go out and get a new Tado, but the lack of support puts me off a little. Dealing with 2 kids and a baby in freezing house over the holidays is not how I pictured we would spend our time.

I’d expect voltage on the boiler OT terminals, not the Tado. Per the spec, you should be able to relay switch those and get the boiler to fire (but not modulate).
For OT, you have other options if you don’t want another Tado.
