I've recently purchased the £99.99 Screwfix black wireless V3+ starter kit. I understand this kit will not allow modulation control of my boiler (Valient EcoTech Pro). However should I want to control my boiler with modulation (via ebus) do I just need to purchase the 'Add-on Wireless Receiver EU' and ditch the UK wireless receiver in my kit? I assume it's all compatible...

Sadly it seems the 'Add-on Wireless Receiver EU' is out of stock on the Tado website. Perhaps someone can confirm the part number and I can try and source separately.

Or.....I could just get a refund on the Screwfix kit and buy the Wireless Smart Thermostat Starter Kit V3+ (EU Version) from Tado direct for £199.99.

    I’m assuming you have a combi and not a system boiler? Can’t confirm the part number but it’s also sold as ‘wireless receiver for combis’ - it doesn’t have a hot water light on the front if you can see a picture. Otherwise the discontinued extension kit will work, as will the smart thermostat (wired to the boiler). Check that your boiler is compatible with Tado’s various digital protocols first. I know some vaillants aren’t.

    Tado EK01-TCPE-UK-03 is the opentherm version. A few on ebay.

    No that’s the discontinued extension kit, not the eu wireless receiver. Both have digital connections but only the eu wireless receiver can be bought new.
