Heating not turning on despite thermostat indicating temp lower than setting

Hi I'm a new Tado user and installed a smart Thermostat kit without any problems and had it working fine.

Now though the Stat is reading 16 degrees. I have the smart schedule set so the heating should be on now and temp should be 16.5 degrees.
The heating isn't coming on unless I press boost or increase the temp on smart schedule to 17+ degrees.

How do I get the heating to come on and work to the temperature I've set?

Geofencing is turned off. All devices are showing connected

Thanks

  • Can you post a picture of the temperature graph from the app?

I used to find the same and thought there was a problem but after 3 years of Tado ownership, I've found the following

    • heat may not be requested even if temp is below set point as the temp may be rising anyway through solar gain or just heat moving around the property. You can see this on the heat graphs
    • if Tado is heating, the heat request can be reduced or turned off while below set point if Tado detects a fast rise in temp. I see this regularly as my house warms quickly so there's an initial burst of full heat request then the valves shut but the room temp continues to rise due to the radiator being full of hot water

I believe this behaviour is due to Tado's limited "learning" capabilities
