Ecotec 824 and Starter Kit V4+ Wireless Smart Thermostat
Hi Ive just purchased a tado Smart wireless kit with 8 thermostats,
I have followed instructions on the app and connected the bridge and wireless temp sensor and now I am stuck on adding the wireless receiver to the boiler.
I see some conflicting guides on the tado app instructions. One of them shows that I wire the grey and black wires to the ebus +/- and provide external AC. the other says to wire it to the RT 24V so Im not sure where to wire it. I have attached a picture of the board to this thread.
I have 8 TRVs which i want to connect and control temperature of rooms individually. I have been doing some reading and do not understand what "opentherm" is or "modulated", I want to connect the system for best efficiency.
If someone can direct where I should connect my wires on the boiler side and on back on the receiver - do i connect it to com and no or nc?
another question i have is about wifi. I have my bridge connected to the router which is upstairs in my bedroom. my boiler is downstairs in the kitchen. Which of the devices will need to communicate on the same wifi network?
I am a little annoyed at Tado, ive messaged them 2 days ago with no response.
Thanks in advance.

Do you want to connect digitally (modulating) or a simple on/off relay connection? If you want to connect Tado digitally, does your wireless receiver support it? If you’re in the uk, it’s probably relay only, in which case you would need to follow the instructions for RT 24v.0

Hi Johnny,
Thanks for the quick response. Can you tell me the difference between connecting it digitally and on/off? What are the advantages and disadvantages? and how can i tell if my receiver supports it?
I only purchased the tado kit a few days ago.
I attach the picture of my wireless receiver.

What @GrayDav4276 said. Tado doesn’t use Wi-Fi, but the bridge needs to be able to connect to all other Tado devices in order for the system to work.0
