Why is heating coming on in rooms set to 'off'?
Whenever I set the lounge radiator to say 19c (radiator smart thermostat), but want the main thermostat in the hallway and other rooms set to off (wireless smart thermostat) to save money, the system seems to heat all rooms regardless (rads are very hot to the touch). Surely the point of Tado is that you can heat only one room if you want to?

Do you have smart TRVs on all the other rads, or are they otherwise closed?
If not, when the lounge calls for heat it will also put heat through all other open rads in the system.0

Hi. Thanks for your reply. No, there's no smart TVRs on the other rads I'm referring to, so I have to manually switch the thermostatic valves to off on the other radiators... however the hallway rad doesn't have a TVR at all as it's the one linked to the main wireless thermostat in the hallway so I'm not able to switch it off. Maybe I need to use a spanner to turn it off permanently but that seems a shame that I can't just have it on/off as I choose.

If you put the smart TRV on the hallway rad and the smart stat in the lounge with no/a manual TRV (set higher than the stat) I think you should achieve what you want.0
