Newbee Question - Does my Thermostat Have to Call for Heat for Other TRV Rads to Work?
My Set up:
Tado Smart Thermostat in hallway (for 'dumb' radiators in the hallway, bathrooms, kitchen and spare bedroom)
4 x V3 Tado TRVs, 3 in bedrooms upstairs and one in the living room
As I work at home, I only want one of the bedrooms (doubles as an office) to heat up during the day. I've set this as an independent room on the app, but the radiator in this room only heats up if either the hallway thermostat is calling for heat, or if the hot water is on. This is despite the app showing that the TRV is open as per my set schedule. As far as I can tell this is the same for the other 3 TRVs as well.
My understanding was that each of the TRVs can act as an independent thermostat, and turn the boiler on as they require heat - or am I wrong?

You need to set the rooms to have a zone controller rather than being independent if you want them to call for heat. The temperature is set per room, not by device so if you have more than one Tado device in a room, only one will be the measuring device.1

Thanks Johnnyp - I've set it back as having the zone controller, we'll see how it goes tomorrow.
