Vaillant Ecotec Plus 835 + ebus | Set partial load to 'auto'?
My current thermostat is a Honeywell T4R. It offers simple on/off control of the boiler. The installer left the boiler's partial load set to 'auto' and that caused quite a few problems with flow temperature and anticycling. I manually changed the partial load to match my total radiator wattage, which it got things working.
I have ordered the EU version of the Tado v3+.
I am planning to connect this to my Vaillant Ecotec Plus 835 via ebus.
If the Tado takes control of the boiler via ebus, will I need to change the partial load back to 'auto'? Do I need to set a target flow temperature or will the Tado take care of that automatically?
With regards to the provided EU power supply, there aren't currently any 13amp plug sockets in the boiler cupboard. Can the plug be cut off and the power cable wired directly into the boiler?

Connecting via ebus should allow Tado to set the maximum flow temp. You might not need a power source depending on your ebus version, just the ebus connection, but if you do you can use any standard power cable wired to the boiler fused spur and wireless receiver.
Check with Tado that you can use your boiler with ebus first, vaillant tries to make it difficult for third party products to connect digitally.1
