Two Zones - Two Wireless Thermostats

Hi,

My current heating setup is two heating zones (plus hot water). Ideal boiler driven by two wired Siemens thermostats and a single dual programmer in the garage with the boiler (plus a separate programmer for hot water).

I would like to replace the wired thermostats with wireless ones (as they’re in the stairwell on different floors and the temperature isn’t representative of room temp). I would probably then at a later date like to add some Tado TRVs in both zones.

My plan was to buy two Tado wireless starter kits and wire a separate Tado controller up to each zone (only using one wireless bridge though) each connected to its own wireless thermostat. I could add hot water to one of the controllers, or leave it on the current programmer.

Update: Done a bit more research and maybe I need only one wireless thermostat starter kit and then an additional “wired” thermostat and a wireless temperature sensor. I could then use the wireless thermostat to drive one zone and the wired thermostat and wireless temperature sensor to drive the other? Or do I just get two wired thermostats and two wireless temperature sensors?

Have seen mention that you can only have one wireless thermostat per house and that you can’t assign TRVs to zones. Just thought it was worth clarifying.

Thanks,

Rich

  • See my post on the other thread. You can’t use more than one wireless receiver on a single account so don’t buy two wireless starter kits.
