Replace wired Neura Therm thermostat/s with wireless Tado set up
Hi all
Current Setup:
I have underfloor upstairs and downstairs. 1 thermostat upstairs (bedroom) and 1 downstairs (hall). Both thermostats are Neura Therm brand with 2 wires connected at the back. The heating system is a ground source geothermal heat pump (pipes underground in the lawn). When the thermostat calls for heat the pump comes on. The control panel for this is in the downstairs utility room.
What do I think I need:
I want to go with a smart wireless thermostat up stairs and downstairs. Am I correct in saying all I need is the following?
- 2 Tado wireless thermostat (1 upstairs on landing and 1 downstairs in open plan area)
- 2 Tado receivers to go where, replace the existing manual thermostats are currently. Just two wires available
- 1 Tado hub connected to the router via wire
Note I also have a 300 litre tank for hot water in hot press up stairs which is controlled by a programable unit on the hotpress wall (QE7 Graesslin) to switch on immersion. I have a water solar panel so this heats it on sunny days. To operate I manually click in the sections in clock. On off button, booster. It has bath/sink button also. Can I make this SMART too with a TADO. What do I need in addition to the above or what do I need to slightly change in above to do all ?
Many thanks
Colm

I can’t help much, but you won’t be able to use more than one wireless receiver on an account. You can use a Tado wired thermostat instead. There’s no direct support for immersion heaters or solar water heating with Tado either, though you might be able to find a workaround.0
