Why does away mode default back to the schedule

I have set away mode manually but it then says schedule will resume later in the day so it defaults back to the schedule. Can I set away mode manually for prolonged periods.

    Thanks but your last sentence is the issue, it doesn’t stay in away mode . It may be that it is because I have set away mode manually ie switching between home and away in the smart schedule , it hasn’t been automatically activated by the location of the device. So perhaps setting it manually only gives me a temporary period in away mode?
