Factory Reset
Hi All
I would like to do factory reset on a Tado wireless temperature sensor as mine is being recognise as a room and not a sensor or maybe a work around
Thanks

Are you sure it’s not in a room? Are you familiar with how Tado works?0

Not really but I’m a keen learner
The problem I’m having is I don’t think the thermostatic sensor is actually doing anything0 -
Do you mean it’s not calling for heat from the boiler? Or that it’s not working at all?0
-
Because its seen as a room in the app its calling for heat all the time.
I'm sure when I first set the app up the sensor was seen as a separate item not a room

To be honest I don't fully understand the relationship between the TVRs and the thermostatic sensor.
If the rooms are all individually controlled by the TVRs where does the sensor fit in? and where should it be placed?
It would be very handy if Tado had a guide to tell you how to set up a typical system, at the moment its a bit hit and miss.
Thanks for any help

You may get some diverging views on this one, but IMO, the temp sensor is either for a separate room space (no tado STRV) or for pairing with one or more tado STRVs in a room, to give a more accurate room temp (i.e. not next to the radiators).
I don't use the STRVs and just have the smart stat running as a 'traditional' room stat, placed in the best location to get a reasonably accurate reading for the whole house. In my case, that happens to be the hallway, but some prefer the lounge. I don't, because if we're all in the lounge in the evening, that would likely turn off the heating throughout (in this particular set up). The rest of the house has (dumb) TRVs throughout.
If your smart stat is calling for heat all the time, presumably wherever you've placed it is not getting up to the set temperature? Is it in a room with a tado STRV that's turning off the radiator before the set point is reached in the stat? If so, try making the smart stat dominant (so it controls the STRV). As I said, I don't use the STRVs so don't know how, but I do know you can do this, and other threads on here will probably explain how.
Hope that helps.

You put the temp sensor in a room, which is presumably what you’ve done. You should see which one it’s in if you click on settings > rooms and devices. Normally their use is either for rooms that have multiple Tado trvs to get a more accurate reading or for areas that don’t have trvs.
You can set a schedule so the room it’s in won’t be calling for heat all the time. Tado temperatures are set per room, not per device.0 -
I don't think mine is working correctly.
I have mine in the lounge so I can keep an eye on it and changing the temps it doesn't seem to do anything to the rads or the boiler.
I guess its not configured correctly this is why I wanted to clear the data and start again but I cant find a way to do this.
Thanks

That sounds more like a wiring issue. Have you created a room called lounge on the app and put it in it? What device is set as a zone controller?0

How would I know if it’s connected correctly? I have followed all the instructions and it shows up on the app but if I change the temp nothing happens.
When I put it in the lounge on the app should it then control the wtrv in the lounge?0 -
