Why is a room warmer than I’ve programmed it to be?

I’ve programmed on the app for the room to be 20C but it’s running at 23C

  • Still calling for heat at 23C or room reaching 23C?

    If the latter:

    • How high is your boiler flow temperature? The higher the flow temperature at the boiler, the more likely you'll get overshoot.
    • How well balanced is that radiator? If both valves are wide open, it's going to get hot pretty quickly and again, even though the call for heat stops, the rad still emits heat.

If it's still calling for heat at 23C, you'll need to contact support.

  • If you haven't already, get yourself a hand held laser temperature gauge (they're fairly cheap) and you can measure all parts of your room and find what the temperature really is.

It may be overshoot, particularly with trvs, although this should be up and down.

It may be the device is inaccurate. You can correct this in the app.

It may be where the device is placed. I have one that is on a wall that gets warmer than the room.

It may be a trv is too close to the radiator. You can get adapters to turn them 90 degrees away from the rad.

If you're open plan (or doors open) it could be picking up heat from another room. My dining room picks up heat from the lounge.
