Why is my inside heating not responding to my schedule?

I am away and those in my house inform me and the app agrees that the inside temperature is consistently at 28 degrees even at night when the setting is at 17 degrees. The temperature is not responding to the changes in the schedule and is always much higher 28 degrees than the highest it should be 22.5 degrees! Anyone help while I am absent!?

    Single room or house as a whole?

    If latter, it could be the relay in your receiver is stuck and constantly calling for heat?

    Turn down the flow temperature at the boiler so you can't get to these temperatures until you can get it fixed.

    If you need to bring the temperature down quickly, turn the boiler right down for a bit until it gets more comfortable.

    Consider turning the boiler flow temp down at night if you want it cooler.
