Starter Kit V3+ install & how to separate hot water and heating

Hi,

I have just purchased the V3+ and i want to control my heating and hot water separately. My previous control was just a timer (the one with the pins on) to control when the heating and hot water will come on/go off. To note heating and water are on the same timer. My current set-up does not have a thermostat.

Do i connect the receiver to the old timer's wiring and will that enable me to then control the heating and hot water separately, so when i turn the heating on the central heating does not come on. Can it be confirmed that i just wire to the old timer's wiring and i do not need to touch the plumbing pipework. Thanks

  • Can’t really confirm anything without knowing anything about your boiler and wiring. It may be that you simply replace the timer, you may have to rewire the boiler.
  • As my timer currently controls the hot water and heating at the same time, i think i need to get a plumber to separate the two (with valves on the pipes) so i can control each separately. Thanks
