Worcester Bosch 30Ri Compact - changing to EMS

Hi

At the time boiler was fitted 3 years ago, information I got (that was wrong it seems) was that we could not connect via EMS (Extension kit controlling HW, 2 wired stats(2 heating zones with valve each) and a load of TRVs. Anyway - since then have been connected 'conventionally' using CH/HW relay control (HW relay powers the tank stat during 'on schedule, which calls boiler via the associated 2 port valve relay when below temp. CH relay isn't used as wired stats(always powered)/valve relays take care of calling boiler needing heat.

I'd like to look at moving to EMS - but seems too easy - if I just disconnect LR(bridge to L) at boiler and connect extension kit low voltage to the EMS/BUS terminals - then modify the config - can I leave all the stat/valve wiring as is so that the zone valves operate for the CH/HW circuits - AND - if as I have read, using this mode disables the relays -how do you control HW in this setup - I don't want the HW stat able to call for heat constantly.

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • If you need hot water control as well you won’t be able to use a digital connection, the wireless receiver can only connect via relay or digitally.
