Tado control algorithm

Hi,

Imagine the following case with a Vaillant ecotec plus and Tado thermostat connected via Ebus.

The Tado ebus is demanding the CV heater for a CV water temperature of 58°C. The CV heater has a parameter that limits the CV water temperature to 45°C.

By doing this I am influencing the timing/parameters of the tado algorithm used in the cloud. Is there a way to change the maximum allowable CV temperature coming "out of" the TADO thermostat? Or is the only way calling to tado so that they can change it manually?

  • I’m not totally sure what you’re asking - I’m assuming a cv heater is a boiler? On digital connections Tado’s max flow temp settings often override the boiler’s. There are instructions on how to set the max flow temp here. Although Tado say it works for opentherm I suspect it will work for ebus too.

    If your boiler’s max flow temp settings override Tado’s, it will still be aware of the max flow temp on a digital connection.
  • Yes, your assumption was correct. Setting the max temperature in the boiler has already been done as a protection against high water temperatures demanded by Tado. I think they go up to 70°C, maybe even higher. I would like Tado to limit the demanded water temperature straight from the controller.

    Does this possibility exists today?
