Anyone else find the new app changes annoying?

Just updated the app on my Samsung phone and noticed that I now can't easily change a room/HW to a manual period

e.g. it used to be possible to tap on the HW button and the app would then change to manual mode and you could edit the time required for the HW to stay in that state. Now you have to change the state OFF -> ON then back again before you get the option for manual control. For me, this is a backward step

The other annoying change recently has been the addition of vibration feedback whenever a temperature or HW status is changed. I've not found a way to turn that off as I find that sort of feedback really annoying anyway so always have it turned off on my phones

Seems that Tado keep making unnecessary changes without consulting the user community or making it possible to set them they way you'd like 🙄

I'm sure many of us would prefer if the effort was put into implementing the many features that users have been wanting for years - mesh networking or extender, multi-home support etc

  • This content has been removed.
  • I've also noticed that it's no longer possible to 'Turn off all rooms' (and later, 'resume schedule all rooms').

Or am I missing something in the new version of the app?

This is definitely a retrograde step!
  • Still there for me on iOS
  • Still there for me on Android.

  • @what_a_tado Could you post a screenshot of the latest app version showing these '... all rooms' buttons please? TIA.

@K_R_G : @KKRLatest Android screenshot from my tablet, updated four days ago. No further updates offered today..

Apologies to KKR. It is extremely difficult to enter @ references correctly without this forum adding characters repeatedly as you type (Android) and messing things up. Once someone is tagged you can't then remove them with an edit. It's been like this for at least a year. What a fiasco!

  • Hmm. Seems to be something odd with my phone. I uninstalled then reinstalled and that allowed me to tap on the hot water to set a manual schedule but the next time I went in, that facility was fine again. I notice when it happens, the button is slightly elongated rather than being square

Will have a play about to see if I can work out what's going on
  • Screenshots from my Android phone. I updated the Tado app today.

    Thanks @what_a_tado

I just checked and see that mine is also on that version but the problem still exists. Also checked on my work iPhone and the problem is there too

Have logged it with Tado. Will see what they come back with

I've included screenshots of the HW screen. Immediately after reinstalling, the button is square and I can tap on it to set a manual schedule. The next time I go into the app, the button has changed to the rectangle shape and no longer responds to taps

  • (Update in case anyone else is in the same situation)

On the old Android phone (that lives on a stand in the kitchen), with the currently downloadable version of the app., I don't have that overview screen at all anymore. As soon as the app. opens, it's straight to a 'room':

Tado support asked me to uninstall and re-install (which I had done but they also pointed out that this was a really old version I was using from the Playstore. This had me looking elsewhere and eventually I found an old version 6.52 from APKPure.

This has been installed onto the old phone and is working perfectly. I've asked why the Playstore couldn't have given me this version instead of the really old version...

Thanks @what_a_tado and Tado Support for helping me along!
  • I have an open case with Tado as the issue I'm experiencing also affects my wife's S22 which is running the latest Android

I have found that logging out and back in allows the app to work correctly but only until I next go back into it.

Tado support have escalated to the developers so will see what happens when the next release comes out ...

So the latest 7.4.0 app its worse than before and I'm now pretty fed up. Tado have not committed to any timescale for resolution

Has anyone been successful installing an older version? I've tried a couple of different resources online but the installs fail on all the older versions I've tried. Seems like tado leaves something in the device that prevents older versions being installed
