Can you control two zones with one controller?

I’ve got two zones in a relatively small house, and the intention was to have the heating come on in both first thing in the morning, and just as I arrive home from the afternoon school run.

Is there any way of my single thermostat from the starter kit controlling both zones at once, so the whole house heats up at the same time, or do I still need two thermostats?

I believe you would need two, or see whether a plumber can merge the zones.
