Smart thermostat won’t switch on after changing battery
Hi All. I changed the AAA batteries on my Tado thermostat but it won’t switch on. This is the first time I change the batteries. I think it might be because it was still wired to the boiler . Any ideas on what I do now ?

It might sound obvious, but check the batteries are in the right way, check the batteries you’ve put in aren’t dead, and check the contacts in the thermostat are touching the batteries.0

Hi Johnny, I have checked all of the above and wonder if it was because it was connected to the boiler when it was still powered. Although seen previous posts where they didn’t switch boiler off and they didn’t have any problems.0

It doesn’t take power from the boiler or have high voltage connections so this is unlikely to be an issue.0

Thanks Johnny . That’s good to know0

Apologies, I was wrong - thermostats can have a high voltage switched live connection but I still doubt this would be the cause. Try a different set of batteries and see if that makes any difference.0
