Put it in your living room off the floor, away from your trvs, you’ll get a more accurate temperature reading. No point in having it in the hall way unless you have a very open plan house or have specific temp requirements for the hallway

IMHO, yes. That way you can control heating to that room. if you only use the smart thermostat, it will call heating like your old thermostat to all rooms with dumb TRVs. Two, yes, otherwise if any other room is calling for heating, any dumb TRV will get hot too.

You can still have a main thermostat, but as above, without a TRV, any room that calls for heat and the dumb rads get hot. That might be fine for you.

  • Thank you.
    I have now ordered another 4 TRV's
  • Thank you for the info and fitted the rest of my TRVs today.
As previously asked my living room now has 2x TRV in it. Where should I put my main Thermostat (white square box)?
Should it be in my Living room or can I put it else where?
It seems like over kill to have 2 smart trvs and a thermostat in 1 room?
Or maybe out in my hall stairs?
Again I'm new to this and was wondering what other people are doing? To see what works best.

    Thanks again.
  • Thank you all for the help.
