Wireless receiver only starts boiler when zone valve has been manually opened

Hi I would appreciate words of wisdom. I've just installed Starter Kit V3+ with extension. (Replaced wired thermostat, Drayton programmer). Boiler is Worcester Greenstar 30CDi. Wifi all connected and hot water control is working via the app. However although the light showing response to heat demand is lit, boiler fails to light. My investigations eventually showed me that if I manually open the CH zone valve then the boiler does fire up in response to the app demanding heat. Is this a configuration issue or something else please?

    Doh I have answered my own question. The CH had not been on since last winter and ... yes the CH valve had become sticky. Once I had manually opened it a couple of times all is working perfectly.
