Radiator valves - how to turn fully off for decorating

Options
Hi, I’m doing some decorating that will require me to remove a wall radiator - I have a Tado radiator valve installed and want to make sure I have this right before I turn a wrench (and potentially get very wet!)

If I have the valve turned OFF in the app is the valve fully closed in that I would be able to remove the radiator, drain and there be no water from the system let through the valve?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi, the radiator has no direct contact with the water. You an remove it at any time.

    @rafm5 I think you misunderstand.

    @RiotBadger is wanting to disconnect a radiator to paint/wallpaper the wall behind. This will require closing the lockshield and thermostat valve, disconnecting and draining the radiator. They want to be sure that the Tado valve is actually shut so no system leakage will occur.

    Personally, when I've done this, I've replaced the Tado with a normal valve and turned it right down to zero. I didn't want the risk of someone in the house accidentally turning on that radiator!
