What is needed to connect Tado to my boiler
Hi there
I have tado smart radiator valves throughout the house and the bridge connected to the router.
Im now wanting to replace my valiant vsmart system on my valiant ecotec plus boiler so tado can control the boiler when specific radiators in the house need heat.
Which of the add on’s would I need to do this and why?

You need a Tado Zone Controller to replace the vsmart system. This can be a wired thermostat or a wireless receiver device. If you are in the UK the wireless receiver does not support EBUS, but the European variant does. EBUS is a proprietary 2-way communication interface used by vsmart to give better control of the boiler. When EBUS cannot be used the alternative is traditional relay control, which will just turn the boiler on or off.
I suggest you contact customer support and give them the Vaillant model number, and they will tell you if they support EBUS for your model. Vaillant keep making changes to the EBUS protocol which is why Tado doesn’t support all models. If you have to switch from EBUS to relay control it makes the installation more complicated and you may lose some efficiency.
