Connecting Tado Wireless Thermostat to Worcester
Hi all.
I have tried everything and also searched for the answer for this but without success.
I have set up and connected my new Tado wireless thermostat to the internet and my thinking is that the next step is to connect the thermostat to my Worcester Greenstar boiler using the existing RF receiver but it looks like maybe I have to actually replace the RF receiver with the one in the starter kit? Surely I can just get my new Tado thermostat to replace my existing wireless thermostat but just turning the old one of and “synching” the new one without having to wire in new parts?
I have also been unable to find specific instructions for my particular boiler. Anyone k ps where these can be found?
Any help or advice very much appreciate.

To conserve power consumption on the battery sensors / controllers Tado use a low power wireless link known as Zigbee. I’m not aware that any communication standards have been agreed between heating control vendors. As such I think it’s extremely unlikely you will be able to wirelessly link the Tado controller to the RF receiver of the boiler and that you’ll need to use a Tado one.0

Sorry, my question wasn’t very clear.
Basically I’m wondering if I can connect my new Tado wireless thermostat to the existing RF receiver of my Worcester boiler or do I have to replace the boiler RF receiver with the unit provided by Tado in the started kit?
Again, thanks for any help or guidance you can offer.0 -
@JohnWH thank you for the reply. Very much appreciated. Now I just need to find the instructions for my boiler. I’ve followed the guidance on the website to locate them, but no joy. Those of far from the simple process Tado suggest it is, in my humble opinion.0

You are most welcome. Unfortunately I have no experience of Worcester Greenstar boilers but, hopefully, another user may be able to assist you.
With the UK version of the wireless thermostat please be aware that you will only be able to control the boiler by simple on/off switching.
See here for more details of the limitations of the UK Tado devices: https://community.tado.com/en-gb/discussion/9454/wireless-link-to-baxi-opentherm-combi-boiler-uk#latest
