Adapters do not fit

The included adapters for my Danfoss valves age 1974, do not fit. They are a few millimeters too big. The thermostat is pushed off when the valve gets hot. I have bought new adapters that are similar to those included in the packages, but they are a few millimeters smaller, so they hold the thermostats firmly.
I'm not supposed to buy new adapters to make Tado work as it should ?
I have pay 350 d.kr ~ 60 us doller for that.
