Care & Protect - not reporting boiler errors

I’ve recently invested in a tado system and the subscription service.

The boiler in my home was not firing and no heat to rads or hot water was available for 3 hours until I noticed the issue and reset it.

However, in the Tado app no error was picked up despite the temperatures in respective rooms being well under target temperatures.

Is it not a benefit if the care and protect service to identify issues with the boiler? I don’t mean to diagnose faults, but surely if there is no supply this fault should be picked up.

The boiler is a potterton suprima.

  • Hello,

I also have the scubscription and boiler even displayed an error yesterday morning. Tado says everything is fine.

If you can, i advice to return tado products and go for something else. This is also what the tado Support Team recommends, ironically. I reported to them a lot of connectivity issues, devices with different firmware not updating, and a lot of other connection issues and they finally responded with "better to go for something else than tado". Here is their answer:

    Hello Paul,

thank you for contacting us. I kindly ask you to leave your feature request in the tado° Community, so it can be discussed and voted on by our community members.

That feedback then helps us determine what we should change, and which features we should develop further.

We are currently doing the best we can to innovate and develop our products and services to the highest level that we can. However, this also means that implementations take time to be fully integrated and work properly along with all consumers. So if you are looking for a solution to all of these things now, it would seem best for you to choose something other than tadoº - as I cannot guarantee you at this very moment that there are no more delays in features like open window detection, for example.

Please have a look over the following link where you can start the returning process.

In case you have any more questions, do not hesitate to reach out to me directly.

    Wishing you a lovely weekend.

    Kind regards,

    Wendy
