Got a v3 wired thermostat and its cant seem to control the boiler
Just installed my V3 wired thermostat. Its replaces a Vaillant VRT 50, that is wired direct to the boiler with two cables. tado installation instructions took me through the install. Tado has been configured and connected to the internet bridge and then also connected to two wires like the existing thermostat was (to the + and -).
However the tado thermostat cant seem to turn the boiler on or off, when the thermostat is connected no matter the setting it seems to always be calling for heat so the heating is permanently on. Evening turning off the tado (in frost protection mode) the boiler is running and the house is at 24c.
My old thermostat is back on the wall as working as it used too, from what I can see the tado is wired correctly (as per the instructions).
The boiler is a vaillant ecofit pure 830.
Any help would be apprciated.

These are pics of the boiler wiring and the existing thermostat.

I suspect this may be a configuration issue rather than a wiring issue. Thermostat needs to be configured for EBUS, but may be using the default relay mode. You shouldn’t hear the thermostat making clicking noises when you switch the heating on/off.

Pretty sure I've configured it for eBUS but will check again, the last time I was in the configuration menu I set it to D07 as per the instructions
