TRV Installation help/advice

Hi all, I have just transitioned to a tado control system and installed 2 out of 4 TRV using the app guide.
Installation was straight forward but I have found that setting the valves to Off (frost protection) the 2 radiators were still heating up to full temperatures.
Checked the pins on the valves weren't stuck and on 1 of the radiators I have used the next size up plunger/pin to see if it was that the pin wasn't closing fully.
The valve makes a ratcheting sound which I think suggests it's maxed out early.
Is there a re-calibration that needs to take place?
I did remove and re-add the valve to the network hoping this would reset and re-calibrate.
Any advice/help would be appreciated.
Also if I need to put the smaller plunger/pin back please do tell me.
