Wall plate for wired thermostat only with screws horizontally?

I noticed that in my home the boxes where the old thermostats are mounted have the screws to hold the thermostat in the top and bottom. However the plate that comes with tado has the holes on the left and right.
Any suggestion what to do here? I think only the radiator thermostat display can be rotated.

You need a Mounting Frame, but it will mean the thermostat is not flush to the wall. This one from MK is 20mm, but you may find something slimmer if you do some searching online.
