How do you wire Tado heating and hot water controller into existing set up?

If your existing drawing is correct there seems to be an issue. You thermostate closes a relay contact between black and grey to let the boiler know to fire.
Your diagram does not show a connection back to the boiler from the stat grey wire?0 -
