Is Tado Still Subscription Based?

Hi,

I almost bought a number of devices for underfloor heating zones but then saw reviews on Amazon mentioning the need for a subscription for geofencing etc.

Is a subscription still necessary for automation features?

If not, could it be added later?

    Taking the Tado subscription service is not compulsory. It can be added (and removed) at any time after you have installed your devices.
    My recommendation would be to (carefully) decide exactly what devices you need, you con add more devices at any time.
    In my opinion the Tado automated (add on) functionality is more of a "sales gimmick" than a really "must have" option of functionality.
    Don't let the subscription option of Tado's system become the overriding decision marker.
