Shouldn’t need to touch the wiring centre (middle). Extension kit replaces the BG branded programmer. I presume you have a wireless Tado stat. Wireless part (right) just needs bridging out.1 -

I'm happy to report here all those issues seem solved, Receiver X reconnects without intervention and devices disconnections are rare and self-healing.2
